Sycor sales up by almost 20 percent in 2017

The Göttingen-based service provider for digital transformation Sycor increased its number of employees by 100 thanks to organic growth in the past financial year. With over 750 employees, Sycor's annual sales grew by almost 20 percent to EUR 85.1 million. This positive result is due on the one hand to the overall favorable economic situation, and on the other hand to the successful integration of the new employees.

It was defined by investments, among other things in new employees and office space: We opened our 20th location in Freiburg this past August, and will be moving into our additional facilities at the 'Alter Güterbahnhof' in Göttingen in mid-2018", report Sycor's President & Chief Executive Officer Dr. Marko Weinrich and Rüdiger Krumes.

 

Focus on employee satisfaction

"We owe the strong growth in the number of employees and sales to our employer brand, which is favorably positioned in the meantime, and our high profile in the IT market," Weinrich adds. The company received no less than three awards in the 2017 Great Place to Work® competition. Sycor took first place in the "Best Employers in Lower Saxony-Bremen 2017" category in the size class of companies with more than 250 employees, and third place in the "Best ITC Employers" award in the category for companies with 501 to 1,000 employees. This also makes Sycor one of Germany's best employers. The Great Place to Work® awards represent Sycor's special achievements in creating a trusting and supportive culture of collaboration in the company. The assessment was based on an anonymous survey of the Sycor employees about key workplace topics such as trust in managers, identification with the company, professional development opportunities, compensation, health promotion, and work-life balance. The quality of HR and leadership in the company was evaluated as well.

Positive outlook for the anniversary year

Sycor will move into the new complex at the 'Alter Güterbahnhof' in mid-2018. This building means relief for the company headquarters by the railway station and consolidates other locations in Göttingen. The office complex will be defined by openness and flexible structures that promote agile working methods. "We will be able to adapt the space to our working situation, which involves changing project teams of different sizes," Krumes explains.

In addition to opening the office, Sycor will also celebrate its 20-year anniversary in 2018. "In 1998 Sycor was no more than a bunch of thoughts, ideas, and hopes," Weinrich recalls, and boldly states this prognosis: "We are perfectly positioned in the age of digitalization – for our customers and ourselves."
