Technology leap for Sycor.Rental

Sycor.Rental is now available with the new version of Microsoft Dynamics AX. This makes the ERP industry solution for mobile goods rental fully mobile and intuitive to use. Customers also benefit from the scalability and flexibility of the cloud as well as functional extensions, including self-service options for end customers and suppliers.

"We have upgraded Sycor.Rental to the new version of Microsoft Dynamics AX and taken the associated technology leap," explains Frank Jakobi, the Sycor Vice President in charge of the entire group's worldwide activities related to Microsoft Dynamics AX. "As a Microsoft Strategic Development Partner for mobile goods rental and fleet management, this step was of crucial importance to us in terms of offering the full benefits of this modern ERP platform to our customers in the rental industry." However, customers not only benefit from the technical development of the new Microsoft Dynamics AX, which has only been available for eight weeks, but also from the functional extensions to the industry solution Sycor.Rental.

"In summary you could say that Sycor.Rental is even more innovative, intuitive and flexible than ever before," emphasizes Lars Podszuweit, Strategic Product Manager at Sycor. "We have also applied our experience accumulated in numerous customer projects around the world to the functional extensions." Once upgraded, Sycor.Rental offers all advantages of the Microsoft Azure cloud platform - just like the basic Microsoft Dynamics AX. In particular, it boasts the scalability and flexibility required in a dynamic market environment. By combining the cloud possibilities with the new web-based client instead of with a Windows desktop client, full mobile availability of the industry solution for mobile goods rental, trade and service is assured on all devices. "Employees can use Sycor.Rental on a smart phone or tablet anywhere and anytime, even on a customer's construction site or in a large open-air storage facility. Both keyboard and touch screen input is supported," says Podszuweit. This new versatility further enhances the multi-site and multi-country capabilities of the solution, which were already outstanding thanks to the support for multiple locations, currencies and languages. Sycor has also adopted the latest workspace concept: Every employee is provided with a tidy, customizable, digital workspace that is suited to their field of responsibility. It routinely brings together all required information and functions based on roles. Specific business intelligence functions and dashboards, optionally provided via Microsoft Power BI, supplement the workspace. Significant potential additional benefits are offered by the integration with other Microsoft Cloud services such as Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Microsoft SharePoint.

"The new customer self-service functions are also of great use to our customers. They can offer these to their own customers and suppliers, with no need for them to purchase licenses. They too only need internet access to view things such as open items, invoices, delivery notes or rental inventories," Product Manager Podszuweit emphasizes. Intercompany rental processes are now supported as well. The rental processes have been fully integrated into the standard project module of Microsoft Dynamics AX and the device specifications were expanded and structured. "Lessors are now able to access dynamic current and historical data simultaneously."

Vice President Frank Jakobi points out an additional advantage: "Sycor.Rental and Sycor.Fleet are both available as cloud solutions in the Microsoft Dynamics Azure Marketplace. This means our customers benefit from the Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services (LCS), taking application lifecycle management to a whole new level in addition to simplifying and standardizing the implementation process. Customers will be able to realize business benefits much more quickly as a result."
