An SAM project gives you the certainty that your software asset management is state-of-the-art and usually protects your company against license reviews by the manufacturers. Since IT is always changing, the validity of such a certificate is normally limited to one year. The required recertification at a much lower subsequent cost is therefore a worthwhile investment in your company's IT compliance. In regard to an optimized bank rating (Basel II), a current SAM certificate from the IT department can be extremely helpful as well. The same applies to an internal tax audit.
