Industry 4.0 partnership for SMEs
Sycor and Baker Tilly Roelfs have forged a cooperation agreement that is unique for SMEs based on experience from ongoing industry 4.0 projects. Together they are offering comprehensive process and consulting expertise required for Industry 4.0 projects so that customers can reap the benefits of systematic, effective and productive consulting and implementation.
The internationally active full-range IT service provider Sycor and Baker Tilly Roelfs, one of Germany's largest consulting firms operated as a partnership, have forged a cooperation agreement that is unique for SMEs. Together the two companies are offering an integrated approach to Industry 4.0 and the related transformation process. The companies offer consulting and operational support in all technology, process-oriented and financial matters, including reporting. Services also include the operational implementation of outsourcing and business transactions.
"Midsize enterprises that want to succeed with Industry 4.0 projects need experienced, specialized partners for IT, process and legal consulting as well as auditing," emphasizes Sycor Chief Executive Officer Rüdiger Krumes. Industry 4.0 projects not only open up possibilities for new business processes and increasingly complex business models, but also require companies to be very efficient and willing to change. The digitalization and networking of products, machines, processes and people with ITC systems along the entire value chain – and across company boundaries – that is typical for Industry 4.0 represents a challenge for the organization, processes and IT. "Ensuring the required, consistent IT support for processes is a complex task for the IT infrastructure. The high degree of networking also requires experience in dealing with integrated overall systems," Rüdiger Krumes continues.
"Under this cooperation agreement, we contribute consulting expertise in the production processes, risk management and the essential legal and taxation topics," adds Heiko Jacob, partner at Baker Tilly Roelfs. "In doing so, we ensure a constructive and successful implementation of Industry 4.0 projects from the outset." How important Baker Tilly Roelfs' auditing expertise is in this environment is made transparent by Jacob: "Industry 4.0 is going to displace classic business models and bring forth new approaches that are increasingly or exclusively digital. What's more, current value chains will be turned inside-out and entirely reshaped by disruptive changes. Delivery and performance relationships are going to form through close digital networking across company boundaries in the future. These changes also have a massive impact on company valuation and accounting as well as internal and external reporting." Baker Tilly Roelfs helps companies assess opportunities and risks, and assists with the conceptual design and definition of corresponding IT systems and IT-supported processes as well as compliance systems in order to complete this digital transformation successfully.
Sycor as a full-range IT service provider has many years of experience in IT strategy consulting and the implementation of the technologies required for Industry 4.0 projects, including networks, IT security, cloud computing, mobile devices and mobile data capture. Sycor also handles the setup of integrated, comprehensive IT systems, the implementation of suitable individual applications, their operation and the creation of the required interfaces. "We provide IT process support along the entire value chain up to the business process and full outsourcing – supported by the comprehensive consulting expertise of Baker Tilly Roelfs," says Sycor Managing Director Krumes.
"Just like Sycor, we have established experience with SMEs. We serve companies according to their strategy, objectives and processes," adds Heiko Jacob of Baker Tilly Roelfs. "Together we offer an integrated selection of services for Industry 4.0 projects to SMEs, which has not existed in this form before."
